Using Secure File Transfer Client 3.2.0

Secure File Transfer Client is a more secure alternative to WS_FTP

1. Open a SSH Secure Shell window and log in as usual.

2. Select Window, then New File Transfer from the Menu bar to open a SSH Secure File Transfer window.

The left pane shows drives, folders, and files on your local system. The right pane shows files and folders on the remote server.

To publish Web pages, navigate to the floppy disk or other local device that has your HTML files, image files, etc. in the left pane. Then open your public_html directory in the right pane. Drag the files from the left pane to the right pane and drop them there.

The default permissions make any file or folder you place on the remote host visible to others, as they should be for a Web page. If you want to adjust file permissions, right-click a file or folder and select Properties.

The AUTO file transfer mode is the default, and it transfers all files in Binary except those with file extensions of .txt, htm, .html or .bat. To change the settings you can click the abcdef button for ASCII, or the 0101010 button for binary, or the 01/cef to return to AUTO mode.

Settings can be adjusted by clicking Edit, then Settings, but the defaults are fine for normal Web site maintenance.
